COVID updateWe have installed hand sanitising stations in all of our co-living spaces, so that anyone who enters the house has the opportunity to sanitise their hands before entering the rest of the house! We are also offering virtual viewings via Whatsapp, FaceTime or Zoom with the opportunity to meet some of the current housemates during the call. If you'd prefer a face to face viewing, social distancing will remain in place and housemates can either meet you outside in the communal garden or we can video call them in to join you!
-
What is included in the rent?Rent includes all bills, high speed broadband and a weekly cleaner for the communal areas. We also have a gardener and window cleaner who keeps the outside looking as fresh as the inside.
-
What furniture is in the room?Every room is individually styled. We provide a bed, mattress and mattress protector, wardrobe, chest of drawers and bedside table or shelf unit in every room. To help you work from home, most rooms also have a desk and chair.
-
Do you have Wifi?Of course! We have high speed broadband because we know you can’t live without it!
-
Do you take couples, can I share with a friend?"We have a very limited number of rooms that are suitable for couples. It depends on the amenities we can provide in the kitchen and the size of the room. We will always say on our advert if the room is suitable for a couple.
-
Who lives in the house? The majority of our housemates are young professionals aged 21 – 35. We attract a wide variety of tenants that work in different sectors including retail, manufacturing, financial services, public sector and key workers. Most of our housemates are new to Bicester and are looking for like-minded people to socialise with.
-
Do you do short term lets?We have a minimum tenancy agreement of 6 months – but we’re hoping you’ll want to stay longer! In this way we can build up a home for people who enjoy living and working in Bicester.
-
What if I leave early? We always ask for a months notice when you decide to leave us. If you leave within the first 6 months you will continue to pay the rent till a suitable replacement tenant is sourced, referenced and until the replacement tenancy commences.
-
Do I need references?Yes, we need to take previous landlord and current employment references. You will be asked to complete a tenant information form- it will be sent from us directly or you will be asked to complete details with the tenant information service.
-
How do I take a room?We like to chat with and meet you before we can offer you a room as we try to fit like minded people together in a house. After a telephone interview we’ll arrange to meet you at the house to show you around to see if the room suits your needs and maybe to meet a couple of the housemates. If it works for all of us we’ll ask you for a £100 holding deposit to secure the room and we’ll stop advertising it. This holding deposit is non – refundable if you decide not to take the room, otherwise we’ll take it off your first months rent when you move in.
-
What do you mean by being part of the Bicester Living community? Many of our housemates don’t know anyone in Bicester when they take one of our rooms. We’ve therefore set up a Whatsapp Groups just for our current housemates. It means you can chat to each other, share places that you’d like to meet and socialise with a range of people across Bicester. We hope you’ll get to make lots of new friends this way. We also arrange regular social events so there's no need to be a stranger!
